Halloween night may have gone by, but the thematic productions certainly won’t stick to that tight a schedule. Proof of this is precisely the upcoming Jamie Drummond single from Casey Rasch’s UNRSTRCTD imprint, accompanied by an equally interesting XGenic remix. Let’s see what the fuss is about.
Dubbed The Boneyard, Jamie’s newest production is a hybrid beast, part hard edged tech trancer, part ominous movie score. The breakdown succeeds in creating what is possibly one of the creepiest atmospheres of any trancer released this year, and the vocal sample from Silent Hill: Revelation only adds to the already goosebump-inducing experience. It’s sinister, it’s refreshing and though it’s been a long time coming, the excitement hasn’t diminished a bit. Superb stuff.
Argentinean double act XGenic goes down a slightly more varied path, employing some more percussion and base variation into the reinterpretation. In short The Boneyard receives a boatload more power, and they take the imprint’s name as a suggestion, as there’s a lack of any restriction on the tremendously energetic build-up. A worthy alternative for a rather hard to beat original.
I still maintain the original is my favourite off of the EP, but you are, of course, free to pick your own. What you are also free to do is to pick up the package starting December 14th. Until then, take a listen to these samples. 🙂
