Simon O’Shine – Nuummite

Variety is something I put a pretty big emphasis on, both when crafting my playlists and the posts on this site. As such, for this recommendation, we’re talking a look at Polish producer Simon O’Shine‘s latest slab of prog-trance released under Audioresearch Music. Let’s dive right in.

The unique sounding Nuummite is named after a black metamorphic rock (hence the rather dark artwork), sought after by gemstone dealers and fans of the esoteric in big part due to its iridescent nature. Just like the rare type of rock it borrows the name from, Simon’s track unveils its many facets as one lets the arrangement unfold. A pronounced baseline, a strong progressive vibe and decidedly mysterious atmospherics make for a supremely enjoyable listening experience. The darker and pretty ominous vibe is probably what I enjoyed most about it. It’s not overly complex, but then again, it doesn’t have to be. Nuummite does away with any unnecessary clutter to expose what’s at the core of this genre’s popularity: the hypnotic interplay of sounds. Top notch stuff.

Simon O’Shine‘s Nuummite is out now on all digital download stores. Enjoy the sample below and get the track via the links provided. 🙂
