Looks like it’s time for yet another double number from the folks at Monster Tunes, this time by way of Slovakian producer Miroslav Vrlik and with a clear target for the Force sublabel of the Monster group. If slightly harder edged uplifters are something you’re looking for, you might want to take a look at this. Let’s dive right in.
The opening track could be classified as what some call a ‘techlifting’ production, which is basically a harder edged, slightly acidized variant of uplifting trance, not that it’s a bad thing, mind you. A strong intro, coupled with the ping-pong that goes on between the light piano sounds and the synth melody makes for a really nice listening experience, especially towards the end of the build. While I’ve heard plenty of tracks that have been utterly ruined by the climax (I’m not going to name and shame here, rest assured), there’s thankfully none of that in here. The acids get more pronounced for the final bit of the build and the synth melody takes over as we move past the climax, with the crystal clear piano sounds interjecting sometimes. It’s not overly loud, it’s not ‘dry’ sounding, it’s simply just as good as it can be. And I absolutely enjoy it for that.
It might be the companion track, but Isolation can definitely hold its own against the A side. What really drew me to it was the lead, which reminded me of classics from the likes of Three Drives, but with an obvious modern twist. It has that anthemic feel to it, without sounding dry and lifeless like a certain part of the more popular styles of today. I know it’s vague, but trance at its most basic for me should make you at least feel something. I’m happy to report this one does have all the elements of something that’s bound to stay in my playlist for a sufficiently long time to come. It’s a real feel-good track and you’ll just have to check it out for yourself it you don’t believe me.
