The ReWind series exists as merely an aid in the discovery (or rather, rediscovery) of the unintentionally forgotten, or the often overlooked tracks of yesteryear.
I like to switch things up from time to time, so this week we’re jumping the fence from trance to breaks. For this, I’ve dug into the back catalogue of the Australian offshoot of Hooj Choons, and settled on this 1999 release.
Joe Williams and John Ross, aka The Light were the two behind Expand The Room, a track featured on compilations such as Elastic or Sasha & Digweed’s Northern Exposure: Expeditions. The EP was originally released in 1997 under AAA Recordings, and two years later under Hooj Choons, and contained (depending on the version) up to 4 different mixes including Vocal, Dub, 4 Storeys High remix and Rennie Pilgrem remix.
Since I said we’re going the breaks route, I’m going to feature the original dub down below. No point in dragging this longer than it needs to be, because you’re here for the music, not for the text. Enjoy, and see you next week. 🙂
Country: Australia / Style: Breaks / Year: 1999 / Label: Hooj Choons Australia
