Indecent Noise – Cerberus EP

Some people get dogs as pets, but apparently for Indecent Noise, your run of the mill dog doesn’t have nearly enough heads. As such, his newest companion, the three-headed Cerberus, solves the problem nicely. On hand to tame the beast, Shaun & James, better known as Acid Test.

Original Mix

Whether hard trance is in your playlist day and night, or you’re just now starting to dabble in this area of the genre, Aleksander’s latest original is as good a showcase for it as any. Complete with chunky kicks, present base lines and big 303 riffs, the intro thunders in, making a lasting first impression. The break is dominated by a characteristic hard style synth, that slowly rises from the depths of the track, guiding it to its very effective drop. The original is a mind-bending hard trancer that stays true to the old sound cherished by many to this day. It’ll undoubtedly be quite a unique presence in the charts.

For those of you who can’t quite get along with Aleks’ original, there’s also a reshuffle from Shaun & James aka Acid Test.

Acid Test Remix

If you’re not quite intro the hard trance sound, maybe a version that’s closer to today’s tech trance would spark your interest. Interestingly enough, that’s what Acid Test have thought, as they reworked Cerberus to bring it more inline with their sound.

The hardstyle lead has been kept intact, but they’ve made a couple of nice changes to the break, adding what sounds like an echoed bell sound, along with toning the kicks down a tad. Although the end result is a slightly tamer sounding track, don’t for a second think it lacks energy, as It will hit you in the back of the head when you least expect it. With all said and done, I think I slightly prefer the remix over the original, even though they’re both masterfully crafted.

Cerberus will be let off its leash on November 10th, exclusively on Beatport. Go on, poke it with a stick. See what happens.
