The torrid summer days are upon us, so it’s best to just kick back and relax. Through Chill Week, I’m providing the soundtrack for your relaxation session.
If I was to play a little snippet of 9 PM, you’d probably recognize the track instantly (especially its signature guitar sound). Chances are, it’s one of the few ATB tracks you might’ve stumbled upon over the years. That said, this series (and the site in many ways) isn’t here to feature tracks that are necessarily popular, but rather to bring to the fore some of a more obscure nature.
Even though Andre’s passion for ambient sounds is noticeable in pretty much all his albums, it’s especially obvious in his sixth studio album, Trilogy. Released in 2007, it featured well-known singles such as Desperate Religion, Justify or Renegade on its first disc. CD 2 (only available as part of the Platinum edition) included 14 productions that tipped the scale more in favour of downtempo. Out of the bunch, one got picked for today’s feature.
As I said in the beginning, you’re probably accustomed to 9 PM‘s simple, yet memorable sound, but there’s also its polar opposite, 9 AM. A laid back drum sequence, balearic guitar strums and base lines, all come together in this masterfully done downtempo track. Perfect for driving at night or just plain relaxing in the shade during the hot summer days, here’s my recommendation for day 4 of Chill Week.
