The Thrillseekers – This Is All We Have

It’s been a while, but I think we finally have an equal for Synaesthesia.

Steven Helstrip’s debut single under his The Thrillseekers moniker was very successful, not only in terms of sales (managing to sell roughly 12 000 copies), but also in terms of its value for the genre. You’d be hard pressed to find anyone who wouldn’t consider Steve’s debut track an absolute trance classic. There’s something about it that you can’t quite put your finger on.

In the words of the man himself, This Is All We Have is his favourite track since Synaesthesia. Bold statement, sure, but as it unfolds and you slowly get a taste of the melody, you start to understand why. The track is a tribute to his father, who sadly passed away earlier this year. Despite being inspired by a tragic event, it manages to strike a happy middle ground between the sad piano melody and the balearic-like guitar, with a stunning end result. Add to that the pad-like vocal chops and top notch production work that’s become a staple of any release from The Thrillseekers, and you have got yourself an instant classic.

If there’s one track that could brilliantly sum up what uplifting trance is all about, this would be it. Absolutely flawless.

All we have for now is a sample, but come July 28th, you’ll be able to get the track in all its glory. Here’s what it sounds like:

Beatport: July 28th

Country: UK / Style: Uplifting Trance / Year: 2014 / Label: Adjusted Music
