Using a sample from a viral Youtube video in a psy-trance track might seem strange. Not if you transform it into an eerie vocal chop, though.
Around the aforementioned sample, Brett Wood aka Splattered Implant has built a dark, highly energetic psy-trancer with prominent acids and kicks and a piano melody that rivals the sample in its creepiness. Charlie Bit Me takes the best of psy and tech, and adds a creepy frosting on top, for a stand out fusion of elements that’s sure to make my speakers reverberate for quite some time to come.
This one is headed for a July 7th Beatport release. Here’s Charlie Bit Me:
Out on Beatport: July 7th.
Country: Australia / Style: Psy-Trance / Year: 2014 / Label: Critical Overload*
