Discover Dark gets one step closer to its massive anniversary release. Read more below to find out what’s in spot number 99 from the back catalogue.
Providing the goods is Salvadorian trio UP3, with their heavily acidized track, Balrog. Fierce from the get-go, its reliance on acids really shines through, as the atmosphere gets progressively heavier and darker. The strong melodic breakdown and build sit in stark contrast to the rest of the production, giving the listener room to breathe before another acid wave hits at Balrog‘s anthem point.
Taking things a step further, Spencer Hardwick is on hand to offer his Techlifting reinterpretation of the original. The acids take a more prominent spot and the melody gets tweaked to create an even more techy version of the track. The buildup is executed to perfection, and that’s one of the reasons why I’ve picked Spencer’s version over the original. As always, you’ll find the sample down below.
Balrog is headed for a general release date of June 30th.
