The ReWind series exists as merely an aid in the discovery (or rather, rediscovery) of the unintentionally forgotten, or the often overlooked tracks of yesteryear.
Fully 19 weeks ago, when this series started, I decided to kick it off with a Martin Freeland track. Big fan of his work and frankly, it’s been a while since we’ve had the pleasure of listening to something produced by him.
Similar to his other tracks, Silicon Trip makes use of a strong acid base and synth line, strapped atop trance’s characteristic 4 to the floor kick pattern. The fully organic soundscape really highlights the reason why this genre is called trance. The strangely relaxing 303 sounds provide a perfect end of day background to fall asleep to.
I’ll hand it over to Martin :
Country : UK / Style : Goa / Year : 1995 / Label : Concept In Dance
