[RWD] Space Buddha – Mental Hotline

2006 | Agitato Records

2006 | Agitato Records

The ReWind series exists as merely an aid in the discovery (or rather, rediscovery) of the unintentionally forgotten, or the often overlooked tracks of yesteryear.

For those of you who are not familiar with psychedelic trance, things are about to get a little…weird.

I’ve wanted to feature this track for quite a long time, but it never seemed to fit (not that it does right now). Granted, I could have chosen plenty other tracks from Eliad Grundland, aka Space Buddha, but none of them have quite the same charm as this one.

From the sixth studio ablum, Full Circle, getting the spotlight is none other than Mental Hotline. A prank answering machine sample, coupled with intense psy patterns and sudden changes in rhythm are the elements that will make this simple little production a possible mainstay in your playlist for days to come.

Should you want to ‘sing along’, I’ve provided the lyrics below the video.

Hit play and enjoy the weirdness :

Country : Israel / Style : Psy-Trance / Year : 2006 / Label : Agitato Records

Vocal sample :

Hello, and welcome to the mental help hotline

If you are obsessive-compulsive, press 1 repeatedly.

If you are co-dependent, ask someone to press 2 for you.

If you have multiple personalities, press 3, 4, 5 and 6.

If you are paranoid, we know what you are and what you want. Stay on the line and we’ll trace your call.

If you are delusional, press 7 and your call will be transferred to the mothership.

If you are schizophrenic, listen carefully, the small voice will tell you which number to press.

If you’re depressed, it doesn’t matter which number you press. No one will answer you.

If you’re dyslexic, press 696969.

If you have a nervous disorder, please fidget with the hash key until the beep. After the beep, please wait for the beep.

If you have short term memory loss, please try your call again later.

And if you have low self-esteem, hang up. All our operators are too busy to talk to you.

Listen. If you enjoyed it, hit that like button. Even better still, share & comment if you’d like. 😀

ReWind returns next Friday. 😀
