The ReWind series exists as merely an aid in the discovery (or rather, rediscovery) of the unintentionally forgotten, or the often overlooked tracks of yesteryear.
More than two years ago, we featured Paul Oakenfold’s remix of this track, as part of the re-release package. Now, we turn our attention towards one of the original versions.
PPK was a Russian trance group, consisting of Sergei Pimenov, Alexander Polyakov and, for a short while, Roman Korzhov. The name PPK is an acronym of the founders’ initials. While they did release an album and quite a few singles, the one track that has stood the test of time is ResuRection.
It features a rearranged melody based off of the theme song for the 1979 Russian film Siberiade. The original melody was composed by Eduard Artemyev. The track was offered for a short while as a free download, but then got signed to Paul Oakenfold’s Perfecto Records.
Enough with the talking, here’s the Space Club Mix
