[RWD] Cartel – Buenos Aires

2008 | Captivating Sounds

2008 | Captivating Sounds

The ReWind series exists as merely an aid in the discovery (or rather, rediscovery) of the unintentionally forgotten, or the often overlooked tracks of yesteryear.

You might be aware of the fact that both John O’Callaghan and John Askew are quite well accomplished producers individually, but did you know they have actually collaborated on several occasions?

From O’Callaghan & Askew to Inertia, the joint releases go back to the mid 2000s. Out of all these monikers, the one that caught my eye was Cartel. Short lived, yes, but with some interesting material nonetheless.

Released in 2008 under Armada‘s Captivating Sounds imprint, Cartel‘s double track EP consisted of the original mixes for Moments and Buenos Airesalongside the Joint Operation Centre remix for Buenos Aires and the Anguilla Project remix for  Moments. Sadly, the news has remained rather silent on the Cartel front, but that doesn’t mean one can’t enjoy the tracks.

Here’s the original version of Buenos Aires :

Country : The Netherlands / Style : Trance / Year : 2008 / Label : Captivating Sounds*
