The ReWind series exists as merely an aid in the discovery (or rather, rediscovery) of the unintentionally forgotten, or the often overlooked tracks of yesteryear.
So far, ReWind hasn’t featured any track from Germany and that’s pretty strange, since Trance as a genre had some its roots in said country. No matter, this post seeks to fix this little niggle.
One of the legendary German trance names is Talla 2XLC who isn’t only a prolific producer, but has also founded not one but two record labels : Suck Me Plasma and Technoclub. The former was founded by Talla in 1989 and remained in business until 2001, when its parent company went bankrupt. The latter was restarted by Andreas in 2005, but hasn’t released anything in a good while. Nevertheless, both labels had their fair share of standout releases.
My pick for this week is a production by German duo Traveller (Andreas Schmidt & Marcus Kreck), entitled Bright Sign. It has everything you’ve come to expect from a track of this kind : hard kicks, light melodies and plenty of supersaw action. The essence of the trance sound, summarized in little over 7 minutes.
Ladies, gentlemen, the Club Mix of Bright Sign :
Country : Germany / Style : Trance / Year : 2000 / Label : Suck Me Plasma Records
